MK Design Loves – July

It’s the time to show you all what I have been loving this month.  I know we designers come up with wacky things sometimes, and I know my contractor shakes his head at me several times a week, but pushing the comfort zones  has the potential for a  beautiful result. Have a place for a bookshelf but don’t want to stick with the normal? Or want to hide storage? There is so much potential for every space!

Styles, Whats yours?

I have had several people tell me a certain style they want, and end up going a completely different route. It’s not that they don’t  know what they like, but its is hard to communicate certain styles.

So i put a few kitchens together so you can kinda see the differences between certain styles. Things can get a little tricky in design, and there is room to debate on a lot of different styles, so as long as you aren’t taking this and going to get into a debate with a certain design style enthusiast, this should be a handy guide.

Side note: I like to tell people you don’t have to fit in a certain niche, and always go with what you like, there is a huge grey area in the right and wrong in design style. Of course you can just have bad design that makes your life harder in spaces. But that is a whole other topic.

Fourth of July

I love 4th of July. Great day for BBQs, relaxing, and enjoying the people in your life. So I thought I would put together some of my favorite little backyard ideas to help make the place look a little more festive. I made sure they would be quick and easy ways to bring the Red, White and Blue to your holiday.  Go on and celebrate America!
