Sometimes a home remodel can have an effect on neighbors. Whether it’s worker trucks crowding a neighborhood street or scraps of materials littering common areas, some jobs attract the wrong kind of attention.
In California, one couple irked their neighborhood by repainting their home to match the color scheme of the house in the Disney animated film “Up.”
At first, many neighbors were upset that the bright colors would not follow the historic feel of the Victorian neighborhood. Now, the couple are being sued by a neighbor who claims the paint job dumped toxic amounts of lead in her yard. Meanwhile, other neighbors are so upset they are suing the city over the permitting process and code enforcement that allowed all of this to take place.
It’s a tricky situation that’s making national news. What are your thoughts?

Inspiration for remodeling comes in many forms. Traditionalists will clip newspaper articles or pictures in magazines, while others will find great source material online on Pinterest or Buzzfeed.
